Vinegar and water works well as a cat urine remover. Blotting the stain immediately with absorbent towels and then using a vinegar water solution breaks down the stain. Be sure to blot when cleaning and don't rub the urine.
Cat urine is ammonia based so cleaners such as ammonia don't neutralize the odor. If the stain is detected right away baking soda solution may do the trick better.
