Navajo Clothing Facts:

The Navajo (dine) means the people. They used real plants for their dye. When someone passed away in the house it was burned to get rid of the evil spirits.They were the mildest of all Indins. Their making of jewelry was hard work but did not get them the profit they deserved.
The navajos made their clothing out of deer skin.
In the past men and woman would wear loggings, leather moccasins or boots, sash belts, and silver jewelry.
Navajo wore A LOT of turquoise jewelry. Deerkin shirts and pants, as well.
Some of their clothing was traded with the Europeans in the 1700's.
Navajo woman usually did most of the housework, as a result, they were often busy patching up clothes
