Navajo Clothing Facts:

The Navajo made their cloth from deerskin. The women little by little wore the “squaw dress” made of plain dark blankets.
Navajo clothing is made by women.

Navajo Indians sort of burrowed the Mexican style in the 1800's by wearing blankets over their shoulder. Navajo Woman often wore deerskin dresses and sometimes wool. They also used wild cotton for their clothes.
Deerskin Navajo clothing is the original form of clothing used by the Navajo indians. Handwoven fabrics hand dyed fabrics are used for blankets and ceromonial gowns.
